http://www.aatsp.org/?Albricias Submission Guidelines: All submissions must follow the guidelines presented below. SHH Chapter sponsors are responsible for submission. Students may submit prose and poetry related to any topic and graphics related to Hispanic culture. Artwork must be submitted on a white background using any media. Artwork that is submitted in color will typically be converted to grayscale prior to publication. NOTE: Light colors do not reproduce well. Students and sponsors are also invited to submit work related to the theme of each issue. The themes for upcoming issues are listed below. NOTE: Submissions are not required to be related to the theme. However, the student poetry, prose and graphics that are selected for publication and that are theme-related will be grouped in a special section of the journal dedicated to the theme. All submissions must be written in Spanish. Submissions must include the following materials: a. Titled literary piece/artwork b. Brief autobiography of author c. Completed Release Form d. High quality photograph of author submitted as a JPEG (JPG), TIFF, or PDF file. Each document of the submission must include a header with the following information appearing in this order: Name of Student Chapter School City, State Name of Chapter Sponsor All materials must be submitted electronically. All written work must be formatted using Times New Roman 12 point font and double-spaced. It is expected that student-created work has been evaluated and edited by the teacher before submission. For nonfiction essays that are not autobiographical in nature, sources must be included, cited in MLA format. All artwork must be scanned and submitted via email, following all other guidelines. All graphics must be at 300 dpi [dots per inch] in order to be considered for publication. Use the following format to name each individual file of the submission: School.Author Last Name.Item To submit, go to www.aatsp.org/?Albricias and click on “Submission Form”, and follow the submission instructions. The editor may not provide additional information related to the quality of the submission or publication status. Students whose work is selected for publication will be notified via email. While every effort will be made to publish the work in the issue for which it was submitted, occasionally works may be held for publication in a later issue. Questions may be directed to Megan Flinchbaugh, Editor of Albricias, at [email protected] Each student whose literary or artistic work is published in Albricias will receive a copy of the journal and a check for $35.00. The student whose graphic is chosen for the front cover of Albricias will receive a copy of the journal and a check for $50.00. Each year, a selection committee will choose the best contributions to Albricias in the categories of poetry, prose, and graphics. Each of the first-place and secondplace student winners will receive a check in the following amounts in recognition of their contribution to the journal.
